The Commercial Receivers Association prepares to kick off its second annual conference at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa in Manalapan, FL August 18-21, 2024. The conference anticipates 200+ receivership professionals from across the United States focused on the three key tenets of the Association: education, networking and practical resources.
This year’s conference welcomes two incredible keynote speakers. On Tuesday, August 19, 2024, Melanie Cyganowski from Otterbourg will share her story of going from Bankruptcy judge to Mediator for both the Bernie Madoff and Lehmann Brothers cases. On Wednesday, August 20, 2024, Shari Bower from the Federal Reserve Bank will share an economic outlook on the year ahead.
In addition to the keynotes, the CRA is proud to offer speakers from across the country to educate upon the following topics:

In addition to the above panels and keynotes, the CRA is looking forward to the launch of The Potter Awards. Aptly named for It’s A Wonderful Life’s Mr. Potter, who seizes control of the bank during its receivership process, the award pays homage to perhaps the most famous receivership story in movie history. The Potter Awards will celebrate receivership professionals who keep their head during chaos, make the most out of troublesome situations and most importantly respond more ethically than Mr. Potter. While there will be many educational opportunities at the conference, the CRA will also focus on highlighting and marketing receivership professionals across the country. It will do so in two distinctive ways, including the return of the Meet Our Members series in which conference attendees are interviewed on their practice and experience (find last year’s Meet Our Member interviews at www.commercialreceiver.org/membership). In addition, the conference will highlight the launch of a new podcast focused on unique receivership stories in which attendees can sign up to be interviewed to share their most memorable receivership stories.
To fully round out the conference, the CRA will offer special networking opportunities beginning with a Sunday evening early arrival Cocktail hour, a Monday evening kickoff party and a Tuesday evening beach party that is sure to not disappoint. Unique to this year, the CRA has added several sponsorship opportunities that allow for personalized and exclusive networking, including Deep Sea Fishing and Pool Cabanas on Monday during the day and a Bourbon and Cigars event on Tuesday after the Beach Party.
