Jonathan E. Groth lives his life by Mahatma Gandhi’s mantra: ”the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” That said, Jonathan is a fierce advocate on behalf of clients, community, and causes.
In his practice at DGIM Law, Jonathan focuses on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, complex business and commercial litigation, receivership and securities litigation, and investor and consumer fraud litigation.
Jonathan brings an extensive background in litigation and fraud, from both the local and global corporate perspective, on matters including consumer and investor fraud, professional and medical malpractice, real estate and securities litigation, commercial litigation, and personal injury litigation.
His entrepreneurial spirit can be seen in the way he approaches law, and his commitment to the betterment of those around him. Jonathan served as the Vice President and Board Member of the Biscayne Park Foundation – its mission is the enhancement, unification, and promotion of Biscayne Park – until he was recently elected as a Commissioner of the Village of Biscayne Park. Jonathan’s dedication to his community and its residents was evident to his counterparts in the Village’s commission, which appointed him – unanimously – to be the Mayor of the Village of Biscayne Park at its first meeting post-election.
Jonathan received his law degree from Nova Southeastern University, graduating with honors while earning multiple Dean’s List distinctions and the CALI Award of Excellence for the highest grade in Criminal Law and Negotiations. A natural communicator, Jonathan was the school’s chief representative to the American Bar Association (ABA) Student Division and the 5th Circuit Lieutenant Governor of South Florida while serving as an editor with the school’s Journal of International and Comparative Law. He also served as a research assistant to Dean Emeritus Joseph Harbaugh, aiding with research and editing for the professor’s book and article manuscripts. Today, Jonathan is a member of the Florida Bar Business Law Section’s Communications Committee.
Jonathan is also the Florida State Director for the Commercial Receivers Association
